A Gentle Return to the Studio
The past few months asked me to step back a little and focus on what truly matters, to rest, and to reset. And now, stepping back into the studio, I’m finding my rhythm again… slowly, gently, but with fresh perspective.
If you’re part of the Pika Tribe, you would have received my March Newsletter — a small reflection on new beginnings, hope, and the beauty of starting again. This space feels like an extension of that.
Lately, I’ve been deep in the process of refining some of my pattern collections. Not rushing — just exploring, adjusting, and allowing the designs to evolve into something more considered.
Interestingly, this season has taken me somewhere unexpected.
Instead of my usual botanical path using leaves, stems, and organic forms as inspiration, I found myself wandering (digitally, of course) through Persian architecture and design. The intricate tilework, the symmetry, the bold yet balanced colour palettes… it completely drew me in.
There’s something almost meditative about the way these patterns repeat with precision, yet still feel alive. It’s like solving a visual puzzle, where every shape has its place and purpose.
It challenged me.
And I think that’s exactly what I needed.
To step slightly outside of what feels comfortable… and see what happens.
This is still very much a work in progress, but I’m excited to share little glimpses along the way. Thank you for being here — whether you’ve been following for a while or have just discovered Pika Pattern.
Here’s to new inspiration, fresh starts, and the quiet joy of creating again.
