I’m thrilled you’re here. I’m Elbe Venter, a self-taught surface pattern designer who recently turned 40. This milestone has allowed me to reflect on the many joys and inspirations in my life. My greatest sources of happiness are my loving family—my children and husband, who make every day brighter. I find comfort in simple pleasures, like taking leisurely walks with my dogs and sharing quiet moments with my mischievous cat during the early morning hours.
Art has always been my sanctuary and passion. Whether I’m painting, designing, or bringing imaginative patterns to life, each project is a reflection of my dreams and aspirations. Life has had its share of challenges, including the loss of my mother and youngest brother to cancer. These experiences have taught me about life’s fleeting nature and the importance of creating something enduring and meaningful. At Pikapattern, our mission is to celebrate and define your unique style through personalized patterns. I’m deeply inspired by vivid colors, intricate patterns, and diverse textures. Seeing my designs transform a space and infuse it with personality and vibrancy brings me immense joy.
My mother was a talented seamstress whose skilled hands could turn fabric into stunning garments. Growing up, I was captivated by her ability to select fabrics and create beautiful designs. My creativity and craftsmanship have always been my guiding light. Now, I’m honoured to continue this legacy by crafting patterns that add joy and character to homes.
I’m incredibly grateful for the amazing individuals who have supported my dream. My husband is my rock—he keeps me motivated and manages the financial side of the business, allowing me to focus on my creative work. Additionally, from the dedicated printers who bring my fabrics to life to the skilled seamstresses who transform my designs into scatter cushions, runners, and more, each one plays a vital role in making my vision a reality.
